Information about CityScape DSL Serviceaka. The DSL Roller Coaster Ride.As you may or may not know, CityScape provides DSL service currently via Vectris Communications, a company based out of Austin Texas. CityScape was notified that Vectris Communications entered Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on January 18th, 2001. For the full story click here. CityScape was told that while Vectris searched for a buyer or additional funding their would not be any services terminated except in cities identified on the January 18th bankruptcy filing. On April 2nd, 2001 CityScape received the "April 2nd Letter.Doc" from Vectris management stating that service would be terminated as quickly as April 9th due to talks between HSA (the company purchasing Vectris from bankruptcy) and SBC (the parent of Ameritech, which is one of Vectris largest creditors) being called off. Then on April 4th, 2001 CityScape received the "April 4th Letter.doc" from Vectris management basically saying that SBC and HSA had reached a compromise and purchase should be completed within 60 days pending further contengencies. In the April 4th letter it was brought to our attention that HSA may not aquire CityScape or its customer contracts as part of the purchase agreement and as such customers should look for alternate solutions for broadband internet acccess. This Page was setup to allow customers access to the full information and to dispel a few rumors/confusions. The largest rumor to dispel is: CityScape is NOT filling for Bankruptcy. Vectris our provider has already filed and I believe a few people have confused the companies, CityScape is NOT bankrupt.
